Before becoming a personal injury attorney, Mr. Porchia graduated with Honors and as the Class President of North Babylon High School in 1996. 

In 2000, he graduated Cum Laude from Boston College with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance. 

He then graduated Cum Laude from Touro Law School in 2003.  He passed the Bar in that same year and immediately went into private practice at the Law Office of Lite & Russell, where he practiced for 21 years as a personal injury lawyer. 

Through the present day, he continues to successfully practice as a personal injury attorney, focusing on the representation of victims who have suffered all types of personal injuries.  Currently, he has handled several thousand personal injury matters that include motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, premises liability, construction accidents, and Federal Employment Labor Act matters involving injured Long Island Railroad workers.  In 2024 he opened his own Law Firm Porchia & Fernan and partnered with his fellow personal injury attorney, Jaren Fernan who he worked with for many years while at Lite and Russell. 

Mr. Porchia is an expert in all lien issues, that involve personal injury matters which include Medicaid, Medicare, ERISA, APIP, and worker’s compensation.  He is admitted to practice in all of the New York State Courts and in the Eastern District of the United States Federal Court system.   

Mr. Porchia is also one of the board members of the Suffolk County Water Authority and also sits on the Riverhead Zoning Board of Appeals. 

Mr. Porchia is married to his wife, Michelle, and they have two sons, John M. Porchia 4th and Jayden Porchia.  Mr. Porchia grew up in North Babylon, then lived in Boston for College, then moved to Massapequa, and now lives in Wading River on the North Fork of Eastern Long Island. 

He is proud of the fact that he has built and maintained a very healthy and extremely successful personal injury practice over the last twenty-one years, without ever advertising.  His client base has developed through personal recommendations of satisfied clients, friends, family, and other attorneys which he believes is a testament to the quality of representation he continues to provide.
